Why Don Jazzy Abandoned His Car With Police in UK

Published

Nigerian producer and music executive Don Jazzy has cleared the air on a police case he faced in the United Kingdom (UK) during the early days of his career.

His former associate, Bankulli, had revealed at a recent event that Don Jazzy evaded the law in the UK after being involved in an accident that attracted police attention.

Bankulli claimed that Don Jazzy removed the vehicle’s plate number and fled after the police arrived at the accident scene.

“I refused to put a particular story about Don Jazzy in the Afrobeats documentary. Because Don Jazzy was trying to survive in London, he had an accident and the car got destroyed. Don Jazzy abandoned the car. He was coming from a show and he fell asleep while driving and crashed his car.

“He left the car, removed the plate number and ran away. Why? Because you would pay more to carry the car away from there than to repair it. But look at Jazzy now, he has fleets of cars,” Bankulli said.

Reacting to Bankulli’s revelation, an X user berated him, expressing fear that the case could be reopened if Don Jazzy were to visit the UK now that his former associate had made the incident public.

“With this reckless talk from Bankulli, I really hope Don Jazzy isn’t planning a trip to London. They can reopen a 20-year-old case!,” the X user wrote.

In response, Don Jazzy urged his fans not to panic, stressing that he did not evade the police as Bankulli claimed.

He explained that he waited for the police, who gave him a breathalyser to determine if he was drunk. Despite confirming that he wasn’t, the police impounded his car.

Don Jazzy said he abandoned the car with the authorities because the fine to retrieve it was higher than the car’s value.

“Lol no panic. It’s been so long, so he doesn’t remember the story exactly. I actually waited for the police. They came and gave me a breathalyser to determine if I was drunk. I wasn’t, but the car was impounded. The fine to collect the car back was more than the cheap car, so I left it with them lol,” he wrote.

Morocco Winners of AFCON 2025, Strips Senegal of Title

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced Morocco as winners of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The CAF Appeal Board ruled in favour of Morocco, declaring that Senegal forfeited the AFCON final by walking off the field during the game.

Morocco were awarded a 3–0 walkover victory.

This decision upholds Morocco’s appeal following the chaotic events in the match.

DAILY POST recalls that the Senegal team briefly walked off the pitch in protest after a controversial penalty was awarded to Morocco late in regulation time.

They were called back to the field by their captain, Sadio Mané, and later won the game 1–0.

CAF determined that this action constituted a violation of Article 84, or the equivalent regulations concerning refusal to play or abandoning the field.

Under AFCON rules, a team that refuses to continue playing or leaves the field without authorization faces elimination and forfeiture of the match.

A total of three operatives of different security agencies in Anambra State collapsed during the inauguration of Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, on Tuesday.

The incident happened during the parade at the Dr Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka.

The three operatives are one male police operative, another male operative of the Directorate of State Services (DSS) and a female operative of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC.

The police operative collapsed first, followed by the NSCDC operative, who slumped towards the end of the event and was later escorted to an ambulance, after she refused to be moved in a stretcher.

A source said the police operative was later resuscitated, but was still not stable, and was taken in an ambulance to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku Awka.

The collapse of the service officers was attributed to fatigue and the long period of parade under harsh sunny weather.
