Not All Osun State Bank Accounts Were Frozen – EFCC
The Director of Public Affairs to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Wilson Uwajaren, on Thursday disclosed that not all Osun State bank accounts were frozen.
Uwajaren disclosed that the commission placed temporary restriction on Osun State account due to suspicious activities.
He made this known in an interview on Arise Television’s Morning Show.
According to the EFCC spokesman: “EFCC placed a temporary restriction on one Osun State government account after observing suspicious activities in the past week.
“This does not mean all Osun State accounts are frozen only the targeted one. EFCC has the power to issue such temporary restrictions.”
With a few days to the governorship election in Osun State, the anti-graft agency had placed restriction on one of the state’s bank accounts.
The commission had earlier explained that it froze the state’s bank account to prevent alleged diversion of public funds.
