Bullets Sign Liberian International Sheku Sheriff on Two-Year Deal
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have announced the signing of Liberian international midfielder Sheku Sheriff on a two-year contract, subject to international clearance.
The 26-year-old joins the People’s Team after leaving LPRC Oilers at the end of the 2025/26 season, becoming Bullets’ first signing of the summer transfer window and the first arrival under head coach Wedson Nyirenda since his appointment in June.
Sheriff is a left-footed attacking midfielder known for his creativity, decisive passing and ability from set-pieces. He scored four goals and provided five assists in 14 league appearances for LPRC Oilers last season.
Born in Grand Cape Mount County, Liberia, Sheriff began his senior career with NTA Professionals before moving to Gardnersville FC in 2015. He later joined LISCR FC, where he spent eight seasons and won six trophies while featuring in CAF Champions League qualifiers.
He subsequently played for Shaita FC before joining LPRC Oilers.
Sheriff has also represented Liberia at both youth and senior level, including in AFCON and FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Speaking after completing the move, Sheriff said he was excited to begin a new chapter in Malawi.
“It feels amazing to join Bullets. This is a big step in my career and an opportunity to showcase my talent outside Liberia.”
Coach Nyirenda said the signing was aimed at adding creativity and greater attacking options to his midfield.
“We have been looking for an attacking midfielder who can also operate further forward someone with an eye for the decisive pass and a strong instinct for goal. Sheriff possesses those attributes.”
The new signing has promised to give his best for the club and urged Bullets supporters to continue backing the team throughout the season.
Renowned Nigerian singer and songwriter Tiwa Savage has arrived in Malawi and is already engaging with women creatives as part of her visit to the country.
The award-winning artist visited Music Crossroads Malawi in Lilongwe, where she interacted with young creatives and encouraged them to pursue their talents with confidence.
During the session, Tiwa also spoke about the challenges women, especially young female artists, face in the creative industry, including gender-based violence and other forms of abuse, urging them to remain resilient.
The “Eminado” hitmaker arrived in Malawi on Tuesday.
On her first night in the country, Tiwa was spotted enjoying an evening with several prominent Malawian women, including Temwa Chawinga, Kim of Diamonds, Maggie Kadrum, Tay Grin, and other creatives.
Her visit is expected to include more engagements with women in the creative industry as she continues her activities in Malawi.
Maranatha Private Academy Managing Director Dr. Ernest Kaonga has come out of his cocoon and commented on the recently released list of 2026 scholarship programe which has seen 485 learners qualifying.
Speaking during the media briefing in Blantyre Kaonga said currently management is on the process of verifying names of the selected students.
“Honestly the administration of the exams across the country were successful but management noticed some discrepancies.
“It looks like some have failed miserably during MANEB but have done very well during the Maranatha examination, which is suspicious,” he said.
He added that the selected students will undergo another assessment at the school and those who fail the subsequent test risk losing their scholarships.
Kaonga further stated that top-performing students may get an opportunity to pursue studies at Sharda University on scholarship.
Meanwhile, Kaonga has hinted that some staff members have been dismissed for accepting a MK2 bribe from parents and guardians.
The scholarship is worth Mk24 million per student.
