AFCON 2025: Cyriel Dessers will Not Play For Nigeria Due To Injury
Cyriel Dessers will play no part for Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations due to a thigh injury, reports Completesports.com.
Dessers, according to the team’s media officer, Promise Efoghe, has returned to his Greek club, Promise Efoghe for treatment.
The former Rangers star sustained the injury during training.
The striker is yet to make an appearance for the Super Eagles in Morocco.
Right-back Ryan Alebiosu did not participate in the team’s training session on Friday as he continue his recovery from the leg injury he sustained against Uganda on Tuesday.
Zulte Waregem of Belgium midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi also sat out of Friday’s session due to illness.
The Super Eagles will take on the Mambas of Mozambique in a Round of 16 fixture in Fès next week Monday.
