Terrorists Arrested In A Snatched Vehicle

The Benue State Police Command has intercepted a snatched vehicle and arrested four suspected criminals in its determination to combat crime through effective intelligence sharing and prompt response.

This was contained in a statement on Saturday by the spokesperson of the Benue State Police Command, DSP Udeme Edet.

She said: “On 24th October 2025, operatives of the Command in Otukpo, acting on credible intelligence from the Imo State Police Command, intercepted a black Mercedes Benz 4MATIC ML350 SUV in transit to Otukpo, which had earlier been reported snatched at gunpoint in Owerri, Imo State.

“Four male suspects were arrested in connection with the incident, and preliminary investigation reveals that the vehicle was being conveyed to another destination when it was intercepted.”

Edet said items reasonably suspected to have been used in the commission of the crime were recovered, including two Android phones, three button phones, one power bank, a criminal charm, and documents of another vehicle.

According to her, the case is currently under investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Makurdi, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the syndicate.

Edet added that the Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, CP Innocent Ifeanyi Emenari, commended the officers involved for their vigilance and urged members of the public to continue supporting the Police with credible information that will aid in the fight against crime.
