Evidence Againist Peter Obi: Okonkwo Releases Whatsapp Chat, Evidence To Back Bribery Claim [PHOTOS]

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Kenneth Okonkwo has made public alleged evidence to back up his allegations of bribery involving the presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress, NDC, Mr Peter Obi.

DAILY POST reports that the actor-turned politician on Monday alleged that Obi and other NDC leaders in the South East, collected N10 million and N20 million from House of Representatives and senatorial aspirants respectively.

According to Okonkwo, one of the aspirants, Obunike Ohaegbu disclosed the alleged bribe to him with a receipt.

The allegation has, however, attracted a lawsuit from Obi’s legal team.

Buttressing his claim, Okonkwo in a post on his X on Wednesday morning, released alleged Whatsapp chats between him and Obunike, where the latter allegedly revealed how Obi was involved in the alleged NDC charade primary elections.

“Obunike Ohaegbu, when I questioned him to prove that Peter Obi was responsible for demanding the N10m from him and other HOR aspirants and N20m from the Senate aspirants, he made it clear that when he confronted the Party on who authorised the payment, the party named Peter Obi and the caucus leaders who were assembled by Peter Obi”, Okonkwo posted.

‘Poverty Is Never Nigeria’s Destiny ‘ – SDP Chieftain, Adebayo Blasts Tinubu Govt

The Social Democratic Party, SDP, presidential candidate, Adewole Adebayo, has again slammed the administration of President Bola Tinubu over the level of hardship in the country.

In a post on his verified X handle on Tuesday, Adebayo said poverty is not Nigeria’s destiny, lamenting that poverty is the consequence of policy failures and poor leadership.

Adebayo stated that Nigeria could reverse its economic fortunes through what he described as the right government, clear priorities and deliberate planning.

The SDP’s presidential candidate pointed out that despite three years of economic reforms, millions of Nigerians continue to struggle with rising hardship and reduced purchasing power.

“Poverty is not Nigeria’s destiny. It is the result of failed leadership and it can be defeated with the right government, the right priorities and the right plan,” Adebayo stated.

Breaking News: NDC Approves key Appointments Amid Growing Crisis

The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, has approved the appointments of Agada Abuh Theophilus as Director of New Media and Strategic Communications and Brian Dennis as Deputy Director of New Media and Strategic Communications.

The appointments were announced in a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director.

“The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has approved the appointments of Agada Abuh Theophilus as Director of New Media and Strategic Communications, and Brian Dennis as Deputy Director of New Media and Strategic Communications

“The party is excited to welcome both appointees and looks forward to the energy, expertise, and fresh perspective they bring to its communications efforts. The NDC is confident that their leadership will strengthen the party’s voice and deepen its engagement with Nigerians across every platform,” part of the statement read.

According to the statement, Theophilus is a strategic communications professional with experience in political campaigns, corporate brand management, institutional public relations and new media.

He is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, holds a Master’s degree in Development Communications and is currently pursuing a PhD focused on election administration and management.

Dennis, the statement added, is a communications analyst with seven years of experience in strategic and political communications. He holds a Master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Resolution.

The NDC said the appointments are expected to strengthen the party’s communications structure and enhance engagement with Nigerians across various platforms.
