Erigga Says, Yahoo Boys Have Killed Romance in Nigeria
Ace rapper Erigga has claimed that internet fraudsters, otherwise known as Yahoo boys, contributed significantly to the transactional nature of relationship in the Nigerian society nowadays.
Speaking in an interview with Yanga FM Lagos, the rapper explained that Yahoo boys’ extravagant speeding on women has made it difficult for other men, who can’t afford speeding extravagantly, to maintain a healthy relationship with women who are already used to the standard set by the fraudsters.
He lamented that genuine romance is gradually fading from the Nigerian society due to a lot men basing their value entirely to finances, and a lot of women dating for “survival” rather than love.
“Yahoo boys don kill romance. [Genuine] romance no longer exists. When last did you see two lovers holding hands together in the street? It has been long we saw such. The problem now, is that we are raising weak men who feel their entire value is in their pockets,” he expressed.
“Nowadays, relationship is expensive. It used to be meat pie, Mr Biggs Fanta, very affordable back then. And the women were very appreciative. But men also share in the blame, weak men are the ones who set the standards -women took and raised the bars.”
He urged men to explore ways of offering more in relationships other than just money. The music star added that emotional intelligence and other personal skills could spark genuine interest in women than flaunting money.

Morocco Winners of AFCON 2025, Strips Senegal of Title
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced Morocco as winners of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The CAF Appeal Board ruled in favour of Morocco, declaring that Senegal forfeited the AFCON final by walking off the field during the game.
Morocco were awarded a 3–0 walkover victory.
This decision upholds Morocco’s appeal following the chaotic events in the match.
DAILY POST recalls that the Senegal team briefly walked off the pitch in protest after a controversial penalty was awarded to Morocco late in regulation time.
They were called back to the field by their captain, Sadio Mané, and later won the game 1–0.
CAF determined that this action constituted a violation of Article 84, or the equivalent regulations concerning refusal to play or abandoning the field.
Under AFCON rules, a team that refuses to continue playing or leaves the field without authorization faces elimination and forfeiture of the match.
