Chief of Army Staff, COAS Waidi Shaibu Says “Soldiering Is A Noble Profession, Take Pride In It”

The newly appointed Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Major General Waidi Shaibu, has urged Nigerian Army troops to take pride in their work, describing soldiering as a noble profession.

The COAS made the remarks on Thursday while addressing troops in Enugu State.

Commending the troops for their successes in the fight against insurgency, he promised to ensure that they are well provided for.

According to him, residents can carry on with their lawful activities because of the presence of the troops in the area.

He said, “I want you to take great pride in what you are doing. Soldering is a noble profession. We appreciate what you are doing to ensure that the security situation is conducive. Be assured that we are going to give you all that is required; your welfare is our top priority.

“Your mere presence in this place has improved the security situation here. It is because of your presence that people are going about their normal activities.”
