Lawmaker representing the Virginia’s Second District in the United States Congress, Rep Riley M. Moore has called on the Nigerian government to disarm “radical Muslim Fulani militants” terrorizing parts of the country.
Moore made the remark on Saturday, while reacting to the abduction of over 300 children and 12 teachers from St Mary’s Catholic School, Niger State.
DAILY POST reports that the incident occurred on Friday morning when the assailants invaded the school shooting sporadically before whisking a large number of students away.
In a post on his official X handle, Rep Moore expressed sadness over the unfortunate incident, stating that his “stomach turns,” seeing the attack in Nigeria.
He wrote, “We now know that more than 300 children and 12 teachers have been kidnapped from St Mary’s Catholic School in Nigeria.
“As a father, seeing these attacks makes my stomach turn.
“The Nigerian government must disarm the radical Muslim Fulani militants terrorizing the Middle Belt”.
