A security expert, Salihu Dantata, has thrown his weight behind President Bola Tinubu over his recent reshuffle of the Service Chiefs.
Speaking during an interview on Arise Television monitored by DAILY POST on Friday, Dantata stated that President Tinubu, as the Commander-in-Chief, has the constitutional power to relieve any Service Chiefs of their duties.
He was reacting to the reshuffle of the Service Chiefs by President Tinubu on Friday.
DAILY POST reports that the President made changes in the hierarchy of the Service Chiefs in furtherance of the Federal Government’s efforts to strengthen the national security architecture.
Reacting, Dantata said, “In the first place, no one expected it. It came as a surprise.
“Then going beyond that, Mr. President Tinubu is the Commander-in-Chief and, at any time, he has the constitutional right to relieve any Service Chiefs of their duties.
“World over, this is the practice. Once you appoint Service Chiefs, particularly when you are facing insecurity, if you are not getting the results they were appointed for, you relieve them and put new ones in.”
