The Senate has commenced the screening of three ambassadorial nominees submitted to the upper legislative chamber by President Bola Tinubu.
The exercise began on Wednesday under the leadership of Senator Sani Bello (APC, Niger North), who chairs the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs.
All three nominees appeared before the committee for assessment.
The committee is expected to compile its report and present it to the full Senate for deliberation and possible confirmation in the coming days.
During the screening, Senator Bello noted that nominee Ayodele Oke had satisfactorily addressed and resolved all previous allegations linked to him.
President Tinubu had earlier forwarded the names of Kayode Are (Ogun State), Aminu Dalhatu (Jigawa State), and Ayodele Oke (Oyo State) in a letter read last week by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
The trio were submitted ahead of an additional batch of 32 ambassadorial nominees announced by the President, whose names are yet to be formally read out by Akpabio.
