BREAKING: Fake Lawyer, Three Accomplices Arrested for Alleged Forgery, Embassy Scam

The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Professor Ahmed Audi, has ordered the arrest and investigation of four suspects for criminal conspiracy, forgery, impersonation and public deception.

Those arrested include one Honourable Hassan Sani Jikan Mallam, Obeten John, Abubakar Mohammed, and Lucky Ndirika Emenike.

Preliminary findings by the Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad (CG’s SIS) revealed that Jikan Mallam had been posing as a member of the House of Representatives for the Katsina Central Constituency, issuing official letters and complimentary cards under the false title “Hon. Hassan Sani Jikan Mallam, Member, House of Representatives.”

According to a statement by the NSCDC spokesperson, Afolabi Babawale, the suspects were apprehended when they attempted to gain access to the office of the Commandant General, pretending to be legitimate lawmakers.

The Head of the CG’s SIS, Commandant A.S. Dandaura, confirmed that the suspects were caught in the act and have since confessed to the crime.

Investigations further revealed that Jikan Mallam hired a Prado Jeep and employed a police officer, identified as Inalegwu Ameh, to pose as his security aide. The group allegedly made several unauthorized visits to ministries and embassies, attempting to secure visas for multiple applicants at the Spanish Embassy while posing as National Assembly officials.

Recovered items from the suspects included fake National Assembly letterheads, complimentary cards, and forged correspondence addressed to embassies and government agencies—evidence of their fraudulent activities.

The NSCDC assured that the suspects would face full prosecution to serve as a deterrent and urged the public to report suspicious activities to security agencies.
