Baba Yusuf, ‘Most Nigerians In Politics for Stomach Infrastructure’
A political strategist and Group CEO of Global Investment and Trade Company, Baba Yusuf, says the idea of many Nigerians joining politics in the first place is about stomach infrastructure.
Featuring in an interview on ‘Prime Time’, a programme on Arise Television monitored by DAILY POST on Tuesday, Yusuf said the politicians do not want to pay their dues but move to the ruling party to make things easy for themselves.
“Their idea of joining politics in the first place is about stomach infrastructure. The same way they are moving to the APC is how they moved to the PDP when the PDP was in power.
“I know PDP people don’t want to hear this, but the party is basically winding down. Given the political trend in Nigeria and the political disposition and character of Nigerian politicians.
“Suffice to say that, yes, the ruling party is playing a game to ensure it is basically running all over the place, but historical antecedents show that this is the trend, and that’s why I call it a trend.
“Remember, during the days of PDP around this kind of time also, they had over 20 governors as well, and you saw those movements, and that is why I talk about the character and disposition of Nigerian politicians,” he said.
