2027 Gen Election: El-Rufai’s Son Gives Condition to Dump All Progressives Congress ( APC )
Bello El-Rufai, a federal lawmaker and son of former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, has addressed speculation surrounding a possible defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The lawmaker reacted after a social media user urged him to leave the APC for the ADC.
In his response, Bello firmly dismissed the suggestion, emphasizing that his political decisions are not shaped by online pressure.
He referenced his electoral victory in Kaduna North as the basis of his stance, reminding critics of the mandate entrusted to him by voters and stressing that his primary loyalty is to the people he represents.
Referring to his win, he wrote: “Bello El-Rufai wins Kaduna North Rep seat with 51,052 to defeat the PDP candidate, Samaila who polled 34,808 votes. El-Rufai’s son sets a record by being the first candidate to win all 12 wards in Kaduna North.”
He maintained that the mandate belongs to the 51,052 constituents who elected him, not to voices on social media.
Bello added that only one circumstance could prompt him to leave the APC a directive from his father, whom he repeatedly referred to as “Mallam.”
“If Mallam asks me to leave the APC, I’ll resign the seat tonight. I can be non-Partisan. My people adore me,” he said.
He further challenged the social media user, saying: “I’ll send 10 million to you tonight if you can convince the 51,052 people that have me this mandate. Do you have an app to confirm?”
While reaffirming his deep respect for his father, Bello also underscored his loyalty to the Kaduna State administration led by Governor Uba Sani, whom he described as his “boss,” ruling out any act of disloyalty.
He revealed that after recently attending a public event with his father, he proceeded directly to a Kaduna APC caucus meeting alongside the Speaker and the governor, a move he described as both intentional and symbolic.
Bello also pointed to the opportunities he has gained within the APC, noting that the party has allowed him to collaborate with senior public officials, including Central Bank of Nigeria Governor Olayemi Cardoso.
Addressing political ethics, he declared: “I will never publicly go against governor and I will not plan his demise. It is called honour.”

Valentine’s Day: Cleric Bishop Israel Alaya Tell Youths to Avoid Fornication, Adultery
As Nigeria joins the rest of the world to celebrate this year’s Valentine’s Day, Bishop Israel Alaya has urged youths to see the celebration as a time to spread agape love, and not as an excuse to engage in sexual immorality.
Alaya, who is the Presiding Bishop of Dominion Bible Church International, Quarry, Abeokuta, insisted that the celebration is not for fornication or adultery, stressing that it has been observed over the years that hotels are typically filled on Valentine’s Day.
He spoke on Saturday during a Valentine walk themed “Living in Purity is Possible.”
DAILY POST reports that the Bishop led youths armed with placards bearing messages such as: “Say no to Rape, Say no to Adultery, No to Flirting, No to Child Abuse, No to Drug Abuse, No to Cheating, Purity in Government, Purity in Education, Purity in Entertainment, No Sex Until Marriage” along major roads around Quarry, Post Office, and Panseke.
Alaya explained that the walk aimed to create awareness, particularly for youths, and to emphasize that their bodies are not for sale.
He said, “The notion over the years is that when Valentine comes, from all our research, it’s a time when all hotels are booked, a time when people want to take someone to a hotel or other secluded places to have an affair. God’s idea concerning sex is that it should be confined to marriage, and anything outside of marriage is not acceptable.”
“The aim of today’s purity walk is to let the world know that our bodies are not for sale. Our bodies are not for fornication, nor for adultery; rather, they are the temple of God. God wants to dwell in us, and that’s the idea of love. We need to ask questions like: what is the meaning of love? If love means taking our daughters to bed in hotels, then that is not the will of God. It cannot move a nation forward. But if we define love as agape, in other words God’s kind of love, then we would be blessed by Him.”
He urged parents to become close to their children and to have sensitive discussions in an atmosphere of care and love, arguing that it would help them open up and prevent them from being deceived.
“We all have a role to play. Parents should be close to their children; don’t allow anyone to use money to take them away from you and, at the end, corrupt their lives.”
The clergyman also called on Nigeria’s leaders and governments at all levels to ensure that justice is dispensed with the right conscience and in a timely manner.
He noted that despite international communities releasing names of individuals sponsoring terrorism in the country, authorities have still failed to prosecute them, calling on the federal government to act.
“To our leaders, they should understand that there is a need to truly demonstrate what love is. For instance, if I love people, I will not take up a gun and terrorize others. So we are calling on the government to ensure that justice is done. If people are involved in terrorism, which is a crime, they should be prosecuted. Other nations are pointing out individuals who sponsor terrorism, yet our leaders remain silent. We are calling on them to do the right thing,” the Bishop added.

MRS Filling Stations in Abuja Increase Retail Price
Dangote Refinery-backed MRS filling stations have increased their retail price of Premium Motor Spirit.
DAILY POST gathered that MRS filling stations in Abuja have increased their retail price to N875 per liter, up from N839 per liter.
A manager at MRS filling station in Abuja, who preferred anonymity, confirmed the hike to DAILY POST on Friday.
The filling station, owned by Sayyu Idris Dantata, Aliko Dangote’s half-brother, adjusted its petrol price upward by N36 per liter.
This means that Dangote Refinery’s petrol gantry price reduction by N25 per liter to N744 per liter from N799 did not make any impact on retail fuel price.
The latest retail fuel price increase at MRS Filling Station erased the price gap between the fuel outlet and other filling stations, such as Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited.
Accordingly, the retail fuel price in Abuja and environs now stands between N875 per liter and N889 per liter as of Friday night.
DAILY POST reports that three days ago, the 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery, which recently ramped up to full capacity, announced a drop in its petrol gantry price to edge out imported fuel.
